Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (born May 20, 1983) more popularly known as NTR Jr and Young NTR., is an actor. He is the grandson of late actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who was the founder of the Telugu Desam Party and son of Harikrishna and Shalini. Called Tarak by his family, friends and close associates; he later changed his name to Taraka Rama Rao in honor of his grandfather. He has two half-brothers, Mr. N. Janaki Ram and Mr. N. Kalyan Ram (both older) and one half-sister, Mrs. Suhasini.


Career


He began his career as a child artist. his first movie he starred in was .Brahmarshi Viswamithra and then Bala Ramayanam, directed by Gunasekhar. Coincidentally, his character in the second movie was Lord Sri Rama, a role often played by his grandfather NTR.
After a few years, Jr. NTR made his re-entry into Tollywood with Ninnu Choodalani in 2001; but it failed to perform well at the box office. He went on to gain fame with Student No. 1 (also released in 2001), directed by S.S. Rajamouli,and the movie is a success and also showed his talent to the Telugu film industry.Next movie was Subbu which is directed by Suresh Varma. Aadi,directed by V.V.Vinayak which is his debut, was a huge box office hit and also took him into the masses. In January 2003, Tarak came up with Naaga; though the movie raised some worthy political issues, it was bombed at the box-office. However, in July 2003, his movie Simhadri made Tarak and director Rajamouli as household names.It broke all the Telugu Film Industry records and became a milestone in NTR'r career.
His 2004 release Andhrawala, was a disaster at the box office,[1] and the next movie Samba was an average film.[1]
His next movie Rakhi, directed by Krishna vamsi, was a critically acclaimed movie. The next one was Yamadonga, which gave Tarak a breather to his otherwise dull career.It has collected huge amounts at the box office. Following Yamadonga, Jr. NTR's next film was Kantri, which was released on May 2008. Very high Range of expectation, the film had bad face on screen with respectable box


Personal life


Jr. NTR is son of Nandamuri Harikrishna and Shalini, grand son of Andhra Pradesh's Former Chief Minister NTR. Jr. NTR's wedding was announced on Jan 28, 2010 with Narne Lakshmi Pranathi, daughter of Narne Srinivas Rao and Smt. Narne Mallika.NTR.Jr will be engaged to Lakshmi Pranathi on 1st April 2010.[2]




Politics


Jr. NTR was one of the star campaigners for the Telugu Desam Party, for the Indian general election, 2009 from April to May 2009 and attracted public and media
